OrthoSorb® pins made of poly-p-dioxanone (PDS), are an alternative to metal fixation for selected applications. OrthoSorb® pins provide the same performance as metallic fixation for protection against shear and rotational forces, while eliminating most of its disadvantages. A gradual rate of absorption allows for an optimal transfer of support to the bone as it heals.
