The company’s Endoform Dermal Template is an FDA approved ready-to-use tissue substitute that can be used for wound care and dermal reconstruction. The product will improve the rate and quality of healing. Mesynthes is also developing Endoform Infection Control for the prevention of infection if there is a high risk of post-operative infection.

New Anti-Aging iPhone App Promises Better Skin

The main one will have 10 Color-Light and Sound Therapy treatments to deal with wrinkles, acne, cellulite, joint pain, sleep disorder and hair growth stimulation. The healing strategy purports to use wavelengths of light and sound to stimulate cells to produce collagen and elastin, resulting in firmer skin.

Sculptra Aesthetic (injectable poly-L-lactic acid) has been approved for use by a trained physician to correct shallow to deep nasolabial fold (smile lines) contour deficiencies and other facial wrinkles. The injectable dermal filler works gradually to offer natural-looking results that can last up to two years. The treatment was available in Europe for a decade.

As part of the Fraxel re:pair Complete Fractional Ablative Workstation, all of the three surgical hand pieces can be used alone or along with each other, with no need to turn the system off for changing the hand pieces.

Medicis warns FDA on Solodyn waiver provisions

SolodynAccording to Medicis Pharmaceutical, the FDA’s waiver provisions for the generic versions of the company’s once-daily oral acne drug, Solodyn (minocycline HCl), will put patients at risk. The company is asking the FDA to approve Solodyn’s generic versions only after in vivo bioequivalence testing for drug strength.
